Orientation Days _ BeST

Today I will talk about BeST program. It is a program to improve graduate's soft skills especially communication, technical and entrepreneurship skills. Hmm..The orientation days of this program was held at Hotel Istana, Kuala Lumpur on 29 and 30th November 2010. The first day I was explained by the program's crew about the BeST program.Definitely this program is more about biotechnology field. Oh my god, I know nothing about biotechnology ! During the first day, there are some quizzes about the biotech field. How can I know about the biotech's scientist or professor. They even as all of us about the biotechnology company in Malaysia.

For your information, I am graduate in Chemical Engineering. I never learned about biology..Hmm..so, during the Doctor explained and presenting about what biotechnology is and talk about some project paper, I just listen and take note for the future maybe. But most of the participant are graduate in biotechology field. The first day is a very wonderful day because I got many friends from various academic background. So, from here I can share n get some important information. Then we were placed in a room, three person per room. Hotel Istana is very beautiful hotel n definitely they have a very beautiful room. No wonder because they are five star hotel in Kuala Lumpur. I was placed in a room with two friend, Firdaus and Redzuan. They are very nice person. Hope they can be my best friend forever.

The first night we had been tough to believe in the power of mind. Each of us must say that we can break a pencil by only using a finger. Of course we can break down the pencil easily. Moral of this slot is we must believe that we can do whatever we wanna do. We also taught about to express our energy level by showing through our communication and non verbal language. It was a very interesting topic. The person who taught and conduct us at that night is very energetic.

The second day at morning session, there were several graduate whose presenting their final year project and thesis. I'm not one of them because my project is more to engineering design meanwhile what they ask for is more to biotechnology thesis. Although I m not a biotech student, I still can understand their project and they are so amazing actually. Who said Malay graduate cannot do a good presentation? We can do it better thank you think ! Some of their project were using analytical instrument such as HPLC, GC, AAS etc. I have learned and run some of these equipment by myself. Actually, there are very interesting if we can run this equipment ourself. But I really know that some of University in Malaysia are not allowed their student to run these equipment by themself. How can this happened to the IPTA's student ! so sad men ! Anyway, I'm one of the lucky person who can learn and operate them by myself..hihi

The afternoon session at the second day, we  were taught about grooming ourself in order to make us confident in what we are wearing. The speaker also told us what is the most suitable dress or clothes for the person at our age. One of the objective of this grooming things is to showing up our personality at the highest level. This is a very interesting topic actually..I can say that, most of our graduate dont really care about this.. Hope the next session for this topic will teach us to groom ourself better.
