The Art of Negotiation Skills !

  23^rd December 2010, we have learned about how to negotiate because it is very relate to business. En Hisham taught us the skills needed to make a very good negotiation and to have win win situation. We also divided to six groups to do the negotiation for the situation given earlier. My group has to be a landlord to negotiate the increment in rent house to a tenant. This is a very interesting task. Most of the preventatives from each group have talent to be an actor or actress even they done get the win win situation of the negotiation. I think that all for this session. I cannot come for the second day of negotiation skills because I have something to do.

Fine tuning for the Presentation Day !

22^nd December 2010, all of us discussed about our final project in groups. My group will involve in a business to produce Pectin from cocoa pods to replace gelatin from animal that mostly non halal. We discussed to make a “Request for Proposal” to get fund from the National Biotechnology Foundation. Today was a very boring day. But we were so lucky because we can back home earlier than before. ( ‘’ ,)

Public Speaking !

On 21^st December 2010, we have something special ! it is public speaking. My group title for this public speaking is Immigration. Very global topic for only three minutes, of course three minutes is not enough to explain this topic. For this session, I focused in the causes of immigration happened in America: Mexico, Costa-Rico, Nuagana,US and Cuba. The causes I found is based on some study by profesors in this field. Actually there more than 10 causes of immigration in those regions, but I only state six of them. The causes of immigration that I have explained are poverty, armed conflict/war, economy and market, human population, repression and natural disaster.

This is a very interesting session because other than we know our own skills and talent, we can observe others. I also like to choose my best speakers for this session. My top ten speakers are Mr. Fadhirul, Miss Sabrina, Miss Time Marshall ( I am not remember her name), Miss Von Yi, Miss Sarah, Miss Iyliana, Miss Linda, Mr Yassin, Mr. Firdaus and Mr. Nazreen. For me they are very unique speaker that have a very own style in speech. Hope that all the comments from Redzuan’s brother, I means En Hisham, will improve ourself in doing public speaking.

Mock Interview !

On 20^th December 2010, we had mock interview and the interviewer are En. Abd Faruk and En. Abdullah Yunus (Encik Lah). Before we started the interview, in group we must list the top three hardest questions to be answered by interviewee. My group questions were:

1.      What are your weaknesses and how will you overcome them?

2.      Why we should hire you?

3.      What will you see yourself in the next five or ten years?

After the discussion of all these problems amongst interviewee, the mock interview is begun. My interview is under Encik Lah. You know what are the questions asked to me? The first one, tell me about yourself. To answer this question, I just make a brief explanation about myself. The second question was, tell me about your hobby. One of my hobbies that I stated in my resume is drawing. I told him that I like drawing since childhood. I also told him some of my experience in drawing during school. Although I’m not art and design graduate, I still like to draw. It is my hobby men! As engineering graduate, I also learned engineering drawing that really need a very high imagination. 

Encik Lah also asked me this question, why we should hire you. I told him that the position I applied is very suit me based on my education background. I also told him that I don’t mind to work in a very tough situation. That is engineer working environment right?! He also asked me either I will moved to Sarawak if the company want me to do so for work. I said, I don’t mind at all! I love to experience new place. It is very interesting! I even don’t mind if the company want me to work in oversea. Anyway, I love travelling. Then, he said he will call me if I qualified for that position. My mock interview session end here! Bye!

Grooming Session !

On 17^th December 2010, we have learned to groom ourself better. The speaker is Leilanie Mohd Nor. I will only focus on the session for men. For men, we learned what to wear to work,the shirt’s color, trousers, belts, shoes and necktie. The rule of thumb is simple is better. The best color for men’s shirt is the bright color like white, off blue or any bright colors. Anyway, it still depends on our skin’s color. As a corporate worker, we must wear black belt and shoes. This session also covered the personal hygiene,over-all projectiob of self, body language and also dinner table atiquette. Ok !

Communication for Leaders ( '' ,)

On 16th December, We have learned what the best communications for leader are. The speaker is Prof. Dr. Syed Omar Syed Agil. He is very funny and happy go lucky person. He taught us the criteria of communication needed by a leader. For me, this is a ok session. We also was given a task, find a leader who have a very unique leadership skills and presenting it.

My group takes the President of Iran as our unique leader. The main reason is he is very brave person in expressing his opinions. At the afternoon we have another task, to find the problems occurred in a situation that given earlier, so that we can learn something from that. Hmm, I think that’s all for this session.(+_____+)

2 days of powerful presentation skills !

On 14 and 15th December 2010, we have learn about the skills of powerful presentation. For this session, the speakers are Encik Lah and Puan Rosilawati. Do you think their presentation skill are powerful enough ?! Hmm..just leave that question in your mind. Actually, both of them were not present something, they just share and explain some techniques and tips for  a powerful presentation. For me, both of them are ok. Encik Lah's talk  is quite boring and always talk about someone else and joke on them. We also did some activities such as talk to static partner, in group in order to build our confident level.
